Amplifier is an awesomely designed and well executed web site
where you can get music samples and download video clips of
many of the bands that are currently in the news. The site
also has a number of band profiles, interviews and if you
like anything you see or hear on the site, there is a checkout
system for people to buy the music. |

Teledu Records is
a virtual store specialising in harder-to find New Zealand
music and independent releases from around the world. It
used to be the web site for the store but store has gone
away and everything is mailorder now. Lotsa good stuff here.

broadcasts music by New Zealand artists to the web. They
do it all from balmy Palmy so check them out and drop them

Have a realtime listen to radio in NZ. Radio New Zealand
is meant to "provide innovative, comprehensive and
independent broadcasting services of a high standard".
Whatever, have a look at what the NZ government is spending
money on. Not bad.

Check out her web site for some excellent photos of antipodean
acts such as the Hasselhoff Experiment and the Datsuns (she
is in to leser-known kiwi bands). The site also has a section
dedicated to ANTIROCK which is aimed at exposing the 'great
unknowns' of New Zealand music. Petra features profiles
of bands from across New Zealand.

KIWI
EXPERIENCE
If you are a traveller, there are a number of ways to get
around New Zealand. You can hitch, drive a car, ride a bike,
take a train or bus or, if you're adventurous, you can take
the Kiwi Experience and meet cool people while you travel.

BULLS
BUS TERMINAL was one of the greatest sources for information
on New Zealand music on the net. Also known as the New Zealand
music linkup, creator Jono Milne has done a great job of putting
together these pages.
The original server location is down apparently but the mirror
link is still functioning.
These days Jono isn't maintaining the pages but there are
still links that will get you where you want to go. |

Yelloweye
Records outta Dunedin New Zealand is focused on local
acts and anyone south of the Bombay Hills. The label is
pretty much a hobby for those involved but has some great
musicians on-board.
Acts on their roster include She's Insane, Brouhaha, Cynthia
Should and Funhouse.

ARC CAFE is a Cafe in New Zealand that is interested in
fostering new music. It was formed in June 1997 in Dunedin
on the south island of New Zealand. They have a lot to offer
travellers and locals alike from genuine free internet to
ground level culture. Have a visit in the summer months and
skip out on the icky weather. |

THE
STEREO BUS
There is something new from The Stereo Bus. The second disc
from these guys is called Brand New amd it rocks out big.
While members of the band often call their music "sissy pop"
it really does go off sometimes!
We know the pedigree of the band is good - (members of the
Muttonbirds and JPSE).

FLYING
NUN is perhaps the longest running and most well known
label coming out New Zealand. They have bands on their roster
such as the Bats, the Chills, the Clean and Tall Dwarfs. Newer
artists on the scene include Fiona McDonald, The D4, The Subliminals,
and did I mention Chris Knox!?! |
