News:
Eskimo Joe, Jebediah and Little Birdy are among the WA acts who will appear at this year's WAMi Festival, Conference and Awards (Feb 17 to 27).
The Cat Empire spent December in Havana , Cuba to record a follow up to their debut. They were at Egrem Studios where some of their heroes like the Buena Vista Social Club, Ruben Gonzalez, Cubanismo and Chucho Valdes cut their tracks. The album is to be mixed in London , and due out in Oz on April 17.
Shihad (back to their old name again :) will be returning to Australia for a few shows in the new year. These will serve as a break in the recording of their new album in Vancouver.
This week, Melbourne all-girl band the Spazzys' cover of My Boyfriend's Back (Fur through Shock) debuted on the ARIA singles chart at number 29.
Boy-rockers Wolfmother's self-titled EP (Modular through Universal) spent its second week in the charts at number 35 - five places up on last week's debut at 40.
