NEWS:

This week we had a couple of Aussies join us on the show - Ben and his wife GabrielleThe D4 are heading off to the supercool LITTLE STEVEN'S UNDERGROUND GARAGE FESTIVAL in USA.

Powderfinger have signed to BMG Music Publishing for Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific, South America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The band is currently in Byron Bay recording new tracks, and preparing a 2-CD live album, a DVD and a Greatest Hits set.

The Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) honoured a number of local acts at the Number One Chart Awards last Tuesday in Sydney. Artists honoured included Delta Goodrem, Paulini, Kylie Minogue, Kasey Chambers, Jet, Spiderbait, Shannon Noll, Something For Kate, Guy Sebastian, The John Butler Trio, Pete Murray and Hillsong Church.

Spiderbait have been added to WA's mega Rock It event at Joondalup Oval on Sunday October 24. It is headlined by Jet, along with The Living End, Jebediah, 28 Days, Hilltop Hoods, Rocket Science, and Dallas Crane with more acts to be announced.

Minuit are on their Guns EP tour. They will be playing in Christchurch on the 20th of August and Queenstown on the 21st.

Machine Gun Fellatio went on Triple J to play some of their new tracks from their October due album, and asked listeners to choose the next single. According to the band's publicist, the ploy "surprised" and "dismayed" Festival Mushroom Records executives who apparently heard the demos for the first time on radio, rather than in their offices.
