News Briefs:

Shutterspeed have released a new four track EP, 'Turn To Black'.

Charles Jenkins, the lead singer/songwriter of the Icecream Hands is releasing his debut solo album, 'Bungalow', on Monday 9 August through Parole Records.

Peabody will record and mix their second album, 'The New Violence', from August 16 to 28. The album is slated for a release in 2005, with a single to precede it.

David Mccormack (Custard) and the Polaroids have released their second album, 'TheTruth About Love', on Laughing Outlaw Records.

78 Saab releas their new EP, 'Beat of Your Drum', August 30 on Ivy League Records. The title track is taken from the band's forth coming second album, 'Crossed Lines'.

Kasey Chambers has confirmed she is returning to America to tour. The tour will start in San Francisco on November 3.

TISM are performing in Queensland this week as part of their current east tour promoting 'The White Album'.

Kaleidoscope are playing a series of dates along the east coast this August, to promote 'In and Out,' the new single from 'Voluptua'.

The Datsuns are playing two dates on their current NZ tour; Wellington on the 10th of September and Auckland on the 11th. Following these two shows they will be heading to Japan with The Casanovas.

Jet are the first band to be announced to perform at this year's ARIA awards. This year the event moves from Tuesday to Sunday (October 17) at the request of the Ten Network to deliver higher ratings.

Jet have overtaken the Vines in the American music charts. They have been nominated for best rock video, best new artist in a video and best editing in a video in the MTV Video Music Awards. The awards will be held on August 29.
