The Bats are currently mixing their new album. The working title of the album is Herburt after a mascot that the Bats have taken on world tours since 1986. This will be their seventh album for the band with the original line up that has been together for an impressive 22 years.

Sydney three piece The Fangs are playing Melbourne this weekend. They will be performing: Thursday July 22 @ Shake Some Action w/ The Hovercrafts and Talamere; Friday July 23 @ The Old Bar w/ Midnight Juggernaughts, The Accidents and Gnitch Gnitch; Sunday July 25 @ Pony w/ The Hijinks and Talamere.

On August 9, The John Butler Trio will release 'What You Want' - the next single from 'Sunrise Over Sea'. The band will be touring the US during August to September, followed by a November tour of Ireland, Scotland, Holland and the UK.

One Dollar Short will be touring in August in support their second album, 'Receiving Transmission,' out now on Festival Mushroom Records. Special guest at all dates is Something with Numbers.

Spiderbait's Black Betty single will be released in at least 30 countries, including the United States. The band and their Australian record label were initially apprehensive about releasing as a single because it was a cover.

The Cat Empire are taking on Europe, with 25 dates throughout Holland, Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Switzerland, Britain to the finale when they return yet again to the Edinburgh Festival in late August. They're sending a tour diary to the FasterLouder.com.au site of all their adventures.

Founding members of the Blacks Seeds, bassist Shannon Williams and drummer Rich Christie are leaving the band according to front man Barnaby Weir. The September tour has been cancelled, meanwhile the six remaining Seeds are looking for a new rhythm section to continue the legacy. The last Black Seeds gig with the original line up will take place in true style at the Rastafari Reggae Splash in Singapore at the end of this month.

Rhian Sheehan has been jet setting around the UK releasing his first album Paradigm Shift. To support the release Rhian played NZ favorite Toast Festival and the Notting Hill Arts Club with support from fellow LOOP artist Video Kid. Rhian plans to release a vinyl EP in London this September.
