* This week we received a care package from Brisbane band Tonjip.
We played their most awesome latest single "Missile Crisis."

* Nancy Vandal are getting back together for a one night stand
on Saturday December 20 at the Manning Bar, Sydney Uni. Their special
guests will be Fugg and The Self Righteous Brothers (Jay and Lindsay from
Frenzal Rhomb). The first 100 people through the door will receive a free
copy of the Nancy Vandal disc 'I've Wasted My Life'.
* sonicanimation are back after a year long hiatus. They will perform
two live shows to promote the release of the new single, 'Freaky Highway'.
The single comes from the forthcoming album, 'Defective Perspective',
due out early next year. They play Melbourne on Friday December 12 @ Revolver
Upstairs, Chapel St, Prahran w/ Spod and then Sydney on Saturday December
13 @ The Gaelic Club w/ Soma Rasa & DJ Tim Boffa.
* Of 200 Australian artists who submitted their applications for SXSW,
22 have been invited to play. Those invited to play at the prestigious
event include Augie March, Charles Jenkins, End of Fashion, Function,
Gaslight Radio, Gelbison, Gerling, Gersey, Ground
Components, Jason Walker & The Last Drinks, John Butler Trio, Macromantics,
Powderfinger, Riff Random, Screamfeeder, Shane Nicholson, Sodastream,
Sleepy Jackson, Spencer Tracy, The Church, Tucker B's, and Women
In Docs.
* Eight New Zealand artists have been invited to perform at SXSW including
Neil Hannan Band, Little Thief, The Have, The Mint Chicks, The
Coolies, Goodshirt, Pluto. Two Lane Black Top were invite
to play but in an ironic twist, the band actually split up last week.
* The Homebake Festival in Sydney drew over 20,000 people to the Domain.
Players at the event included Nick Cave, The John Butler Trio, 1200 Techniques,
The Superjesus, Magic Dirt, Something For Kate and The Sleepy Jackson,
hip hop star Maya Jupiter, Downsyde, Dallas Crane, Peabody and The
Mess Hall.
