[Artist, Track, Label]

Taxi Ride have made it to number one with their “Imaginate” album
The disc came to Windypeg through Sire Records. I don’t rightly
know what the singles are from the disc which is just as well. It means
that we can choose to play whatever we feel like - nya!

Taxi Ride, Get Set, Sire
StereoBus, Birthday,  indie - NZ (MP3)
Bodyjar, Hazy Shade of Winter, Shock

So the deal with the StereoBus is that they have a new disc
out. However, fans of the band were able to download the MP3 for
sampling from the band’s website prior to the release of the album.
Bodyjar have finished their tour with Living End and are heading out
on their own tour in support of the “singles and stuff” release.

Living End, West End Riot, Reprise
Eskimo Joe, Sweater, indie (BBY)
Jeff Lang, Prepare me Well, True North Records/High Romance

Jeff Lang has toured the US and Canada quite extensively and it is
apparently paying off. Not only has his album “Cedar Grove” been
getting airplay around the country but he has hooked up with US
bluesman Chris Whitely.
Eskimo Joe - I just love that name. The band are part of Ozstock
’99 taking place at the end of November. They’ll be playing with
Paul Kelly, Celibate Rifles, Skunhour and the Fauves to name a
few.

3Ds, Mama Mia, Flying Nun
Bailterspace, Splat, Matador

The news mentioned a story about the London musical Mamma Mia!
So, we thought we’d play a bit of NZ music in honour. From one of the
best Flying Nun Compilations (abbasalutely) we played a 3Ds
cover tune.
Also, Wellington band Debris have released some new material
which is supposed to sound like Bailterspace, Loves Ugly Children,
Salmonella Dub and Squirm all mashed together.

MP3 Zone
New this week is a part of the program called MP3 Zone.
Yeah, the name sux so we're having a contest to see who can come up with something better. The winner gets a bunch of Free stuff courtesy of Shock Records.
Email your ideas to duuo@yahoo.com

This is where we play some new MP3s from the web and tell the
audience about the bands - where their from, who their influences
are, et cetera. Originally we wanted to do this every week but it
looks, for the time anyway, as though it will be every second week.
Info on the bands and where to get the songs played can be
accessed via the downunder upover web site in the “mP#” section.

Inchworm, Umbrella, indie - NZ (MP3)
She is Me, Name of Love, indie - Oz (MP3)
Skulker, Bittersweet, indie - Oz (MP3)

Not from there, No Answers, Mushroom

Australia’s Not From There are supporting the Scottish band Mogwai as
they tour downunder for the first time;
And, the Chills are a fact of life once again. Marty Phillips has got
a bunch of players together in Dunedin and the band will be playing
Christchurch on the 11th of December and Wellington on the 28th
December.

The Chills, I Think I’d Thought I’d Nothing Else To Think About, Flying Nun
Hasselhof Experiment, Shooting the Shit, Flying Nun

Finally, the Hasselhoff Experiment have been annoying people with
their music. Sounds like a good enough reason for us to play them
(with pleasure, of course!).

Scared Weirds Little Guys, 30 seconds, comedie - Oz

30 seconds is all it takes for Gene et. al to leave the building.
