A bit o' news:
Homebake brought 20, 000 people into Sydney's Domain last Saturday.
The bill included Frenzal Rhomb, Regurgitator, Jebediah, Bodyjar,
Pnau, Endorphin, Friendly, Superheist and Alex Lloyd. Also playing
was The Living End whose drummer played with a broken leg!
In other Living End news, big-time fan Regan McCully-Barker and Triple
J are responsible for bringing the band to Broken Hill. The 14 year
old McCully-Barker collected 2000 signatures for Triple J's Get The
Living End Up Your End competition to win.
The Living End will play at Sturt Park, Broken Hill, NSW on Thursday
January 25.

In a quiet little ceremony in Sydney, Killing Heidi singer Ella Hooper
was wed to Frenzal Rhomb's Jason Whalley ... Okay not really! Hooper,
members of Bardot, comedian Rove McManus, Jimmy Barnes, actress Sophie
Lee and Tim Freedman of the Whitlams were all participating in a photo
shoot, conducted by John Webber, for the front cover of Juice Magazine's
annual year book.

It was time for MP#Zone again ... This
week Canvas (NZ) and Lancaster (OZ). BTW, if you put your MP3's at
MP3.Com you should make sure they are easily downloadable. I think
the two bands we played this week need to redo the download scripts
for their music.

New Zealand On Air announced almost forty new grants under its Music
Video, Radio Hits and New Recordings funding schemes. Nineteen new NZOA-assisted
videos should be available in the new year from Shihad, Salmonella Dub,
Breathe and Strawpeople. Also receiving grants, were Flying Nun faves
Garageland, HDU and The Subliminals, Antenna Records' Voom and Relaxomatic,
and independent acts including Christchurch's Deluxe Boy and Auckland
alternative country fellas Cassette.
